Water continues to sculpt new channels in the North Fork Toutle River valley since the 1980 landslide filled it with rock and debris covering 24 square miles up to 600 feet deep. In this picture, taken from the Johnson Ridge observatory, Loowit Channel runs down from the mountain while North Fork Toutle channel runs from left to right. The fog was finally being burned off by the morning sun.
